German Village is a neighborhood just south of Downtown Columbus. German Village was founded in 1814, making it one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city of Columbus. The early population of this neighborhood consisted of, you guessed it, German immigrants. The neighborhood was mostly developed between 1840 and 1914. German Village is made up of beautiful brick buildings and roads. While driving through German Village you will be in awe of the beautiful brick roads and buildings that hold true to the original feel of the neighborhood. German Village was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. There is no shortage of restaurants, shops, parks, and places to check out in German Village.
